1934 - Present

Buckland was born in London in 1934.  He was raised in the Anglican Church but became interested in spirituality and the occult from an early age.  He was educated at King's College in London, and also recieved a doctorate in Anthropology at Bantridge.  He briefly served i the Royal British Air Force before emigrating to America with his wife, Rosemary in 1962.

Buckland has been credited with introducing Wicca to America in 1964, shortly after being initated into the Gardnerian Tradition - by Gardner himself - in 1963.  He was a supporter of Gardnerian Wicca for many years, but then created his own form of Wicca - known as Seax - Wica.

Buckland is the author of many popular books on Wicca.  His most popular and well known book is Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft - first published in 1986, which is still in print today.
