A 'Handfasting' is one of many Rites of Passage.  'Handfasting' is the name given to a Wiccan Marriage/Wedding.  'Handfasting' is the eternal joining of two people in love.

 

A 'Hanfasting' is a sacred ceremony of committment presided over by a High Priestess.

 

A 'Handfasting' is best performed at a time of sunrise or sunset where both the Sun and the Moon are present in the joining of two lovers. 

 

A 'Handfasting' differs from most weddings in that both parties enter as equals and make their own individual vows to each other.
